Information on Maryland’s heritage resources

Well at archeological site 18WO183, excavated in advance of highway improvements, Worcester CountyCultural resource investigations conducted for state and federal project review generate important information regarding Maryland’s past  – through archival research, oral history interviews,  surveys, evaluations, data recovery investigations, recordation and documentation of resources.    The MHT Library serves as the repository for this essential data.   Archeological investigations recover artifacts and generate associated records – often curated at MHT’s Maryland Archeological Conservation Laboratory where those remains are preserved and available for future study and exhibit.   Without these efforts, invaluable information regarding Maryland’s history, archeology, and inhabitants would be lost.
